Oh look! I drew something that isn't complete crap!
Picture inspired by another school project... English Class, we are to research a greek god. What the greek gods have to do with English Class we shall never know, but hey, at least I got some inspiration out of it! I chose to research Hypnos, god of sleep. To the left we have his twin brother Thanatos, god of Death... I've always been fascinated by these two... Sleep and Death. My interpretation of it was that Hypnos would put the body to rest while Thanatos would come and put the soul to rest... It was always expressed that Thanatos was the older of the two twins so he is a smidge taller then Hypnos. The place where Thanatos is standing has withered away, the grass beneath his feet is literally dying as is the tree where he touched it... It was supposed to be symbolic In Hypnos's hand is sand. For some reason I immediately associated Hypnos, god of sleep with the sand man XD The sand was also meant to be symbolic... And as a last note, the sun is setting, not rising. It was expressed that Hypnos never seen the light of day, seeking comfort from Nyx, the goddess of night, his mother. This being the reason why we sleep at night. The gods Hypnos and Thanatos do not belong to me but their designs here do. Don't use my interpretations of the gods without my permission please! Drawing, Coloring (c) Me, ~Breezy13094 |
